Q:Why Purple Ducks?
A: Childhood Trauma.
Many years ago, when little Maggie was in first grade, the art teacher passed out mimeographs of duck pictures for her students to color. Being the effervescent child that she was, Maggie grabbed a purple crayon and proceeded to color her duck with wild abandon, as one might expect from a six-year-old.
When the drawings were collected, her art teacher held up her drawing as an example to all the other students. "Look at this, class!" she said. "Maggie does not know much about drawing OR about ducks! Not only did she color outside the lines--she also used PURPLE!!! Who ever heard of a purple duck? Everybody knows ducks aren't purple!!! Bwa ha ha ha ha!!!"
Little Maggie was quite incensed, but luckily for her school career she was too young to really do anything about it. So she quietly endured the trauma and vowed her revenge.
